Honda Hornet 250cc is one of the popular motorcycles in Sri Lanka. This motorcycle's original name is Honda CB250F. Hornet 250cc was produced for the Japan market only from 1996 till 2007. Lot of Honda CB250F were imported as used motorbikes in to Sri Lanka by the local motorcycle importers. This model was first introduced in Japan in the year 1996. What means CB? Actually Honda CB250F is a Street motorbike. Earlier Honda produced C models, then CA and then CB.
Currently these bikes are selling in Srilanka from Rs 400,000 to Rs 800,000.depending on its condition and chassis number. These are very popular for their engine sound and the rider's will not stay idle at signal light stops, instead they will throttle their motorbike to give the engine sound to the other people to listen. According to local people this kind's of machines are petrol consuming one, but everyone want to own one for themselves. The original bikes used to come with 16 Lt Tank and single exhaust pipe. Here in Sri Lanka most of them are modified to twin exhausts machines.
This liquid-cooled 4-cycle DOHC 4-cylinder 249cc engine features Honda's unique cam-gear train. You will get 40PS at 14,000 rpm while the highest marked line is 16,000 rpm. It is fitted with 6 gears for smooth power Transmission. The machine is fitted with Disc Brakes on the Front and Rear wheels, for better control on the road.
